Laja Adeoye, the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Lagos State, has pledged to build a Fourth Mainland Bridge and establish the Amotekun Corps if elected governor in 2027.
Adeoye unveiled the promises as part of a broader development plan that he said would address insecurity, unemployment, poor infrastructure and social exclusion across the state.
According to him, Lagos needs leadership that is transparent, accountable and focused on delivering benefits to all residents.
He said his administration would prioritise stable electricity through independent power projects and renewable energy initiatives. He also promised improved access to clean water, stronger flood control measures, affordable housing and better urban planning.
Adeoye stated that healthcare and education would receive major attention, with particular emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics as well as technical and vocational training.
He said economic growth would be driven by support for small and medium-sized businesses, expansion of technology hubs, growth in the creative industry, agriculture, the blue economy and responsible use of natural resources.
On security, the governorship hopeful said his administration would strengthen state and community policing through the creation of the Amotekun Corps and the use of technology. He added that youth and women empowerment would also help address the root causes of crime.

Adeoye promised to reform the civil service into a fully digital and performance-driven system.
He also pledged to grant full autonomy to local governments and push for the recognition of the state’s 37 local council development areas as full local governments.
The candidate said his government would publish budgets in real time and maintain strict fiscal transparency.
He proposed replacing the current Governor’s Advisory Council with a more inclusive Lagos State Elders and Advisory Council made up of traditional rulers, religious leaders, market representatives, business leaders and former public officials.
Adeoye also promised to enforce anti-corruption measures and ensure contractors are held accountable for project delivery.
He said his administration would seek to attract up to 100 billion dollars in foreign direct investment through economic diplomacy and strategic partnerships.
The former People’s Democratic Party member said he joined the APM because internal disputes in his former party made it difficult to focus on the needs of Lagos residents.
