The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has fixed the cost of its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at ₦60 million ahead of the 2027 general elections and released a detailed timetable for its primary elections.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s National Chairman, Moses Cleopas, and National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, the NDC said aspirants seeking the party’s presidential ticket will pay ₦20 million for the expression of interest form and ₦40 million for the nomination form.
The party also announced fees for other elective positions. Governorship aspirants will pay ₦30 million in total, comprising ₦10 million for the expression of interest form and ₦20 million for the nomination form. Senatorial aspirants will pay ₦8 million, while House of Representatives hopefuls will pay ₦6 million. Those contesting for the state Houses of Assembly will pay ₦2.5 million.
To encourage broader participation, the party said female aspirants will receive a 50 per cent discount on all forms, while persons living with disabilities will pay 25 per cent of the approved fees.
According to the timetable, the sale of expression of interest forms begins on May 13 and ends on May 18, while screening and interviews of aspirants will be held from May 19 to May 21.
Nomination forms will be sold from May 21 to May 23, and completed forms must be submitted on or before May 25. Appeals arising from the screening process will be heard on May 25 and May 26.

Primary elections for various offices are scheduled for May 27 and May 28, while the presidential primary will take place on May 29 in Abuja.
The party said state House of Assembly aspirants will be screened in their respective states, while National Assembly and presidential aspirants will be screened at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja. Governorship primaries, it added, will be conducted at the local government level.
The NDC said all aspirants will be required to sign undertakings in line with its code of conduct and that it will adopt the “open secret ballot” system to ensure transparent and credible primaries.
The party said the process reflects its commitment to internal democracy and to producing qualified candidates for the 2027 general elections.
