The Labour Party has warned its members and aspirants to disregard nomination forms allegedly being distributed by Julius Abure, describing the documents as invalid.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa, the party said it had received several enquiries from supporters and intending candidates after reports emerged on social media showing Abure presenting forms to some individuals in Abia State.
The party said it initially chose not to respond to the reports, but decided to clarify the issue because of growing concerns among members and the public.
According to the statement, Nenadi Usman remains the recognised national chairman of the party.
The Labour Party stressed that all legitimate nomination forms for the 2027 general election can only be obtained from the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
It cautioned aspirants and supporters against purchasing forms from Abure or any other unauthorised persons, warning that such transactions could lead to financial loss and confusion.
The party also questioned why the alleged sale of forms was concentrated in Abia State and insisted that Alex Otti, whom it described as a leading figure in the party, would not be pressured by political tactics or intimidation.
In its statement, the party accused Abure of continuing to present himself as national chairman despite no longer holding that position.

It said such actions could have legal consequences and urged members to rely only on information issued through official party channels.
The Labour Party reiterated its commitment to conducting a transparent and orderly nomination process ahead of the 2027 elections and advised all aspirants to follow the approved procedures.
