Colombian pop star Shakira has unveiled the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking her return to football’s biggest stage more than a decade after her iconic tournament anthem Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).
The new track, titled Dai Dai, features Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy and is scheduled for official release on May 14.
Shakira previewed the song in a video shared on Instagram, filmed at Brazil’s Maracanã Stadium, sparking widespread excitement among fans of both football and music.
The collaboration continues Shakira’s long association with FIFA tournaments. She previously delivered Waka Waka for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, one of the most commercially successful football anthems in history. She also performed La La La (Brazil 2014) during the closing ceremony of the 2014 tournament in Rio de Janeiro, further cementing her reputation as a World Cup regular.

The 2026 edition of the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, is scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19 and will be the first World Cup to feature 48 teams.
Shakira’s home country, Colombia, is also expected to participate in the competition, adding a personal dimension to her involvement in this year’s official anthem.
