Manchester City saw their Premier League title hopes take a hit after a dramatic 3-3 draw against Everton.
City needed a stoppage-time goal from Jérémy Doku to rescue a point in a match that slipped from their control in the second half.
Doku had earlier put City ahead in the first half with a fine finish, giving Pep Guardiola’s side a strong start. However, Everton responded after the break with a quick turnaround.
Thierno Barry equalised in the 68th minute after capitalising on a defensive mistake. Just five minutes later, Jake O’Brien headed Everton into the lead from a corner.
Barry then struck again to extend Everton’s advantage to 3-1, putting the hosts in control and leaving City facing a possible defeat.
City responded through Erling Haaland, who pulled one back to keep the visitors in the game. As pressure mounted in the closing moments, Doku delivered again with a late curling effort to level the score.
Despite the comeback, the result is a setback for City’s title ambitions. They now sit five points behind Arsenal, who remain in control of the race.
Although City still have a game in hand, the draw means they must rely on other results, as the title is no longer entirely within their control.
With only a few matches left in the season, the pressure now shifts to Arsenal, who can secure the title if they win their remaining games.
