Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa has defended Kylian Mbappé over how he spends his time while recovering from injury, insisting the forward remains under proper medical supervision.
Mbappé recently drew attention after being spotted on holiday during his recovery, raising questions about his commitment. However, Arbeloa dismissed any concerns, stressing that the club’s medical team is fully in charge of the player’s rehabilitation process.
According to him, injured players are closely monitored, with structured recovery plans guiding their return to fitness. Despite this, he noted that players are free to use their personal time as they wish.
“All injured players are monitored, and the medical staff plans everything. In his free time, any player can do what he wants,” Arbeloa said.
His comments suggest that Real Madrid is comfortable with Mbappé’s approach, with no indication that his off-field activities are affecting his recovery.

The coach also gave an update on the forward’s fitness ahead of the highly anticipated El Clásico clash. While he did not confirm Mbappé’s availability, he said a final decision would be made soon based on medical assessments.
“We will have an answer this week,” he added, leaving open the possibility of the French star featuring in the key fixture.

Arbeloa also took time to praise Vinícius Júnior for his consistent performances and impact on the team. He described the winger as hardworking, intelligent, and a strong leader on the pitch.
As anticipation builds for El Clásico, Mbappé’s fitness remains a major talking point. His potential return could play a crucial role in shaping the outcome of one of football’s biggest matches.
