Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has intensified his criticism of Peter Obi, arguing that the former presidential candidate does not have the leadership capacity to address Nigeria’s economic challenges.
In a series of posts shared on social media, Edochie said Obi’s record as governor of Anambra state does not demonstrate the kind of impact required to lead the country. He claimed that Obi’s leadership style and track record fall short of expectations for national leadership.
The actor also questioned Obi’s influence on people around him, suggesting that effective leadership should be reflected in the success of others. Drawing comparisons with his own experience in the film industry, he argued that leaders should be able to point to individuals they have positively impacted.

Edochie further criticised Obi’s performance in office, stating that he did not achieve significant development during his tenure in Anambra. According to him, this raises concerns about Obi’s ability to manage the complexities of governing Nigeria.
He also drew a contrast between Obi and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that the former Anambra governor is “no match” for the current leader.
The remarks are part of a broader pattern of public commentary by the actor on Nigeria’s political landscape. In recent weeks, Edochie has made several statements about Obi, including claims about the potential impact of his political moves.
His comments add to ongoing political debates and differing public opinions surrounding Nigeria’s leadership and the prospects of key political figures ahead of future elections.
