The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says a total of 36 vessels carrying petroleum products, food items, and other goods are expected to arrive at major seaports in Lagos State between Tuesday and May 10, as import activity continues across the country’s busiest maritime hubs.
According to the authority’s “Daily Shipping Position,” the ships are scheduled to berth at the Apapa Port, Tincan Island Port, and the Lekki Deep Sea Port.
The NPA noted that 15 of the vessels are carrying containerised cargo, while 21 others are loaded with a mix of goods including fresh fish, bulk wheat, aviation fuel, diesel, petrol, base oil, crude oil, and general cargo.

It further disclosed that 11 additional ships have already arrived at the ports and are currently waiting for berthing, with consignments ranging from bulk fertiliser and urea to gas, petrol, and fuel oil.
In addition, 24 vessels are already discharging cargo across the three port terminals, handling products such as trucks, containers, aviation fuel, diesel, and other bulk commodities.

The development highlights sustained import flows through Lagos ports, which remain central to Nigeria’s supply chain for both consumer goods and energy products.
With food items and fuel among the incoming cargo, the shipments are expected to feed into domestic distribution channels in the coming days as port operations continue across the country’s maritime corridor.
