The All Progressives Congress has warned aspirants seeking its tickets for the 2027 general elections that any attempt to disrupt the party’s primary elections could lead to immediate suspension.
National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda issued the warning on Monday while addressing aspirants who recently underwent screening for various elective positions. According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the party remains committed to conducting transparent, peaceful and credible primaries.
The APC is scheduled to begin its primaries on May 15 with House of Representatives contests, followed by Senate primaries on May 18, State Houses of Assembly on May 20, governorship primaries on May 21 and the presidential primary on May 23.
Yilwatda said the party would not tolerate any actions capable of undermining the integrity of the process, including violence, anti-party activities or attempts to sponsor unrest.
“In every democratic contest, only one person will eventually emerge victorious,” he said, urging aspirants to display maturity and accept the outcome of the primaries in the interest of the party and Nigeria’s democracy.

He added that the conduct of aspirants before, during and after the primaries would reflect the APC’s values and discipline.
The chairman also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as a strong commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and building a more united ruling party.
According to him, Tinubu’s administration is implementing reforms aimed at stabilising the economy and laying the groundwork for a $1 trillion economy through investments in infrastructure, agriculture, digital innovation and energy.

Yilwatda urged party members to support the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and avoid actions that could create division or overheat the political environment ahead of the elections.
In a related development, a political support group, Relax, Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria, said it had compiled 301 reasons why the President deserves a second term and plans to distribute publications highlighting his administration’s achievements across communities nationwide.
