President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a two-week trip spanning Europe and East Africa, with visits scheduled to France, Kenya, and Rwanda starting May 2.
According to a statement from presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the trip will begin with a stop in France before the president proceeds to Nairobi to participate in the upcoming Africa-France Summit. The event, co-hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, is expected to bring together African and European leaders to discuss key global and regional issues.
The summit will focus on themes such as energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms to the global financial system. Tinubu’s participation is expected to reinforce Nigeria’s push to strengthen partnerships with both African nations and European allies, particularly in areas tied to economic growth and sustainability.

Following the Kenya engagement, the president will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, where he is scheduled to attend the Africa CEO Forum between May 14 and 15. The forum is one of the continent’s major business gatherings, attracting top executives, investors, and policymakers.
During both engagements, Tinubu is expected to present his administration’s economic reform agenda and position Nigeria as a competitive destination for investment. He is also billed to hold a series of high-level bilateral meetings with global business leaders and government officials.
