Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has been affirmed as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections following a consensus process held in the state.
The affirmation took place on Thursday at the People’s Square, Government House, Katsina, where 2,872 delegates from across the state endorsed the governor through a voice vote.
The delegates were drawn from local government executive committees, ward structures, statutory representatives and state party executives.
Chairman of the APC Affirmation Committee, Dr Yakubu Ahmed Machido, said the exercise complied fully with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines, describing the process as transparent and credible.

He said Radda enjoyed overwhelming support from party members, reflecting unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
APC leaders in the state, including former governors and party stakeholders, commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise and urged members to sustain unity and consolidate ongoing development efforts.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Radda thanked party members for the confidence reposed in him, pledging continued commitment to governance and the development of Katsina State.
He also reaffirmed alignment with the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the APC, as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
