
Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has died at the age of 40, according to a statement shared by his colleague Godwin Nnadiekwe on Tuesday via Instagram.
Nnadiekwe described the news as devastating, saying the industry had lost a rare talent and a deeply loved figure. He also noted that Ekubo had reportedly made personal preparations before his death, calling it a painful shock to those close to him.
“I’m struggling to find the words. This news has truly broken me. Nollywood has lost a rare soul,” he said in the post.

The actor rose to prominence after finishing as first runner-up in the 2010 Mr Nigeria competition before transitioning into acting, where he featured in several Nollywood productions, including the popular film Weekend Getaway.
