Family Announces Funeral Arrangements for Late Actor Alexx Ekubo

The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has announced plans for his final burial rites, with funeral activities scheduled to conclude on June 18, 2026.

The details were contained in an obituary statement shared on the late actor’s official Instagram page.

Alex Ekubo Died After Battle With Kidney Cancer

Ekubo reportedly died on May 11 after battling kidney cancer.

In the statement, the family appealed to the public to continue praying for the late actor and his loved ones during the mourning period.

The announcement has continued to draw tributes from colleagues, fans, and members of the entertainment industry, many of whom described the actor as talented, vibrant, and widely admired within Nollywood.

Service of Songs Scheduled for June 10

According to the funeral programme released by the family, activities will begin with a service of songs on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

The event is scheduled to take place at The Monarch Event Centre between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Guests attending the service were requested to observe a white dress code.

Wake Keep to Hold in Abia State

A wake keep is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the family residence located at 7 Ekubo Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, in Abia State.

Family members and friends are expected to gather for prayers and tributes ahead of the final burial ceremony.

Burial and Reception Fixed for June 18

The funeral service and interment will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mary Slessor School.

Following the church service, the late actor will be laid to rest at the family residence in Ujari Village, Arochukwu.

A reception is also scheduled immediately after the interment at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, with attendees again expected to wear white.

Family Appreciates Support

The family expressed appreciation for the support, condolences, and prayers received since the actor’s passing.

They also requested continued prayers and support as preparations continue for the final rites of the late Nollywood star.

Alexx Ekubo was widely known for his roles in several Nigerian films and television productions and remained one of the notable faces in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
