ATLANTA — Czechia and South Africa will battle to keep their 2026 FIFA World Cup hopes alive when they meet in a crucial Group A match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Thursday evening. The Mamelodi Sundowns player was among his side’s standout performers against Mexico and will be expected to provide energy and creativity in midfield. The teams have met only once before. Their previous encounter ended in a 2-2 draw during the group stage of the 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
