Paris Saint-Germain have secured a place in the UEFA Champions League final after overcoming Bayern Munich in a tense semifinal clash to keep alive their hopes of retaining the European title.
Heading into the second leg at the Allianz Arena with a narrow 5-4 aggregate advantage from the first leg in Paris, PSG delivered a disciplined and composed performance under manager Luis Enrique to progress to the final despite heavy pressure from the German champions.
The French side made the perfect start to the match when Ousmane Dembele scored just three minutes into the encounter after an impressive run and assist from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The early goal stunned the home crowd and extended PSG’s aggregate lead, forcing Bayern to chase the game for most of the night.
Bayern responded with sustained attacking pressure but struggled to break through PSG’s organised defence. England captain Harry Kane, who has been Bayern’s standout performer this season, was largely kept quiet for long periods of the match as the visitors controlled key moments defensively.
The Bundesliga giants also saw penalty appeals turned down in the first half after Joao Neves handled the ball following a clearance from teammate Vitinha, with the referee waving away protests from Bayern players and supporters.

PSG continued to threaten on the counterattack after the break, with Desire Doue coming close on several occasions. However, veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer produced several important saves to keep Bayern in the contest and prevent the visitors from extending their lead further.
Kane eventually found the net deep into stoppage time, registering his 55th goal of the season, but the late strike proved insufficient as Bayern failed to overturn the aggregate deficit.

The result sends PSG into another Champions League final, where they will face Arsenal in Budapest on May 30 in what promises to be one of the biggest matches of the European football season.
For Bayern manager Vincent Kompany, the defeat marks a disappointing end to the club’s European campaign despite an impressive attacking display across both legs of the semifinal tie.
