The Jigawa State Government has issued a strong warning against the diversion of food supplies meant for the Ramadan Feeding Program, emphasizing that any official or individual caught engaging in such corrupt practices will face severe sanctions.
The state’s Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Sagir Musa, made this known during a press conference in Dutse, the state capital. He expressed concerns over reports suggesting that some persons entrusted with the distribution of the meals were mismanaging or diverting them for personal use.
Musa reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that the initiative, which is designed to provide free meals to fasting Muslims, reaches its intended beneficiaries, particularly the less privileged. He further stated that monitoring teams have been deployed to various feeding centers across the state to track distribution and enforce accountability.
He warned that anyone found guilty of hoarding or misappropriating the food items would not only be removed from their position but would also face legal action. The state government has urged community members to report any irregularities in the distribution process to ensure transparency.
The Ramadan Feeding Program remains a critical initiative aimed at supporting the needy and fostering communal well-being during the holy month of Ramadan.
