Hollywood actor Idris Elba has officially received a British knighthood from King Charles III in recognition of his charitable work and contributions to young people.
The investiture ceremony took place on Tuesday at Windsor Castle, months after Elba was named in the King’s New Year Honours List released in December 2025.
The honour formally grants the acclaimed actor the title “Sir Idris Elba.”
Elba was recognised for his longstanding commitment to youth development and charitable initiatives aimed at supporting young people in the United Kingdom.
The annual honours list celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields, including humanitarian service, sports, education, arts, and public service.
