Adeyinka Alaseyori Urges Nigerians to Pray for Tinubu, Security Agencies Amid Insecurity

Popular gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori has urged Nigerians to prioritise prayer rather than direct anger at President Bola Tinubu over the country’s worsening security challenges.

The singer made the appeal in a recent video message, stressing that prayer remains a powerful tool for addressing national issues despite growing scepticism among some Nigerians.

‘Prayers Are Working’ – Alaseyori

Speaking in the video, Alaseyori dismissed claims that prayers are ineffective in solving the country’s problems, insisting that spiritual intervention remains necessary at a critical time for the nation.

“Prayers are working. Don’t let anybody tell you prayers are not working,” she said.

The gospel artiste noted that Nigerians should pray for leaders at all levels of government, security agencies and institutions rather than focusing solely on criticism.

“From the president to the last person in this country, we need to pray. Every parastatal, every sector, we all need prayers,” she added.

Calls for Understanding Over Security Challenges

Alaseyori also cautioned against judging government officials too quickly, arguing that Nigerians may not fully understand the challenges confronting those responsible for tackling insecurity.

According to her, the president, vice president and security personnel deserve support and prayers as they work to address the country’s security concerns.

“You can’t say the president or vice president is not working. The security personnel might have gone to rescue them and a charm could have covered their face so they would not see anything. That is the place of prayer,” she said.

Comments Come Amid Rising Public Concern

The singer’s remarks come amid growing public concern over insecurity and recent incidents of abduction and violence across parts of the country.

In May, dozens of pupils and teachers were abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, with reports indicating that one of the teachers was killed during the attack.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage and renewed calls for stronger action from government and security agencies to address the country’s security challenges.

Celebrities Continue to Weigh In

Alaseyori’s position contrasts with comments from several public figures who have recently criticised the government’s handling of national issues.

Among them is Skepta, who recently expressed concern over the hardship facing Nigerians and called for greater attention to what he described as growing injustice in the country.

As debates continue over the best approach to tackling insecurity, Alaseyori maintains that prayer should remain central to national efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability.
