The Nigerian Army has announced the arrest of 10 suspected terrorists and the rescue of three kidnapped victims following a series of coordinated security operations across Abuja and parts of North-Central Nigeria.
According to an operational update released on Wednesday, troops carried out targeted missions in the Federal Capital Territory, Benue, and Nasarawa states, acting on intelligence and distress calls.
In Abuja, soldiers under Operation MESA, working alongside a tracking team from the Office of the National Security Adviser, apprehended two suspects at a checkpoint in Abaji. The individuals were intercepted while travelling in a commercial vehicle reportedly heading toward Kaduna.
Further operations in Benue State led to the arrest of two more suspects during patrols in Gwer West Local Government Area, where troops also recovered motorcycles believed to be linked to criminal activity.

In neighbouring Nasarawa, security forces arrested six additional suspects in the Karshi area of Karu LGA. The army said the operation yielded a locally made firearm, ammunition, and other items, suggesting possible links to criminal networks in the area.
Troops also recorded progress in anti-kidnapping efforts in Benue, where swift responses to emergency alerts forced abductors to abandon their victims. One person was rescued in Katsina-Ala LGA, while two others regained freedom in a separate operation in Konshisha.
