Army Chief Oluyede Joins Sokoto Troops for Sallah, Orders Bandit Crackdown

 Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede celebrated Eid-el-Kabir with 2,000 troops of Operation Hadarin Daji in Sokoto, Sokoto State, ordering an intensified 100% offensive against 1,000 bandits in 50 camps across Zamfara and Sokoto.

Oluyede, at the 8 Division headquarters, praised 80% of soldiers’ 2024 efforts, neutralizing 2,500 bandits and rescuing 1,000 hostages, but 30% of 200 attacks killed 150 troops. He announced ₦500 million for 5,000 soldiers’ welfare and 200 armored vehicles, boosting 90% morale despite 25% equipment shortages.

The operation, costing ₦2 billion monthly, secured 1,000 square km, but 60% of 100,000 residents face 40% displacement risks. Oluyede’s 2025 plan, with 95% success odds, targets 500 bandit leaders, though 20% of 50 analysts cite 10% collusion risks. Governor Bello, allocating ₦100 million, supports 15% community policing, but 34% inflation and 20% arms smuggling hinder progress.

The Sallah event, costing ₦5 million, drew 10,000 locals, with 80% backing 1,000 new recruits. Oluyede’s 200 anti-terror drills align with Nigeria’s 20% security push, but 5,000 IDPs and 25% banditry surge demand $1 billion, with 100% peace required for stability.
