The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it has no plans to extend the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party’s National Chairman, Nantewe Yilwatda, disclosed this during a media briefing in Abuja, noting that the process is proceeding according to schedule.
According to him, the sale of forms, which began on April 25, will close on May 2 as initially planned, with no immediate consideration for an extension.
“There is a timeline for activities, and if there will be any extension, we will follow due process. There is presently no extension for the sales of the forms,” he said.
Mr Yilwatda added that any potential adjustment to the timeline would be decided by the party’s National Working Committee, but stressed that there is currently no indication that such a move is being considered.

He commended the ongoing process, describing it as smooth and well-coordinated, and expressed confidence that it would lead to credible primaries and electoral success for the party.
The APC chairman also pointed to the level of participation by aspirants as evidence of the party’s internal democracy, noting that interest in various positions, including the presidency, reflects its broad acceptance.

He said party officials and financial institutions involved in the sale of forms are effectively managing the process, with monitoring mechanisms in place to address complaints and ensure transparency.
The APC is expected to conduct its primaries in the coming months as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
