Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has responded to recent criticism from fellow singer Seyi Vibez, describing the situation as a misunderstanding and insisting that he never intended to disrespect his colleague.

According to reports gathered by RMNews360, Zlatan addressed the issue on his X page on Thursday following days of online exchanges between both artistes that sparked reactions across social media.

The controversy began earlier in the week after Seyi Vibez publicly criticised Zlatan on X, directing harsh remarks at both the rapper and his fashion brand, Zero To The World.

Seyi Vibez also referred to Zlatan as a “backup artiste,” a comment that quickly drew attention from fans and entertainment followers online.

Reacting to the situation, Zlatan said he was hurt that someone he considered a brother would believe he intentionally dissed him in a song.

The rapper maintained that there was no hidden insult directed at Seyi Vibez and described the entire issue as “literally a misunderstanding.”

According to reports gathered by RMNews360, the rapper’s conciliatory message appeared to calm tensions between both artistes, with fans welcoming the possibility of reconciliation.

Seyi Vibez later responded positively to Zlatan’s explanation and accepted the apology, though he warned that future misunderstandings should be avoided.

The singer, however, added that Zlatan should not allow himself to be used as a “backup artiste” to target him in songs going forward.

Despite the earlier tension, the exchange ended on a calmer note, with supporters of both artistes expressing relief that the situation did not escalate further.

The online interaction quickly became a trending topic across Nigerian social media platforms, with fans analysing the comments and speculating about the cause of the disagreement.

Zlatan and Seyi Vibez have maintained a working relationship over the years and previously collaborated on several songs.

Zlatan featured Seyi Vibez on the track “Let There Be Light,” while Seyi Vibez later returned the favour by featuring Zlatan on “Professor Peller.”

Their collaborations helped strengthen both artistes’ popularity within Nigeria’s street-pop and Afrobeats scene.

According to reports gathered by RMNews360, fans are hopeful the reconciliation could lead to more collaborations between the pair in the future.

The incident adds to a growing trend of Nigerian artistes using social media platforms to address disputes, clarify misunderstandings and communicate directly with fans in real time.
