Donald Trump has cancelled a planned delegation trip for talks with Iran, announcing a shift from in-person negotiations to telephone-based discussions.
According to Trump, the decision to cancel the trip was driven by concerns over inefficiency and the quality of diplomatic exchanges. He argued that long travel for meetings was unnecessary given the current state of negotiations.
“You probably heard that we canceled the trip. We have all the cards. We’re not going to spend 15 hours in airplanes all the time, going back and forth, to be given a document that was not good enough.”
Trump stated that future engagement with Iran will now be conducted via telephone, rather than face-to-face meetings, suggesting a more flexible and remote approach to negotiations.
“So, we’ll deal by telephone, and they can call us any time they want.”
The decision reflects ongoing tensions in international diplomacy involving Iran, with communication strategies continuing to evolve between both sides.
The development highlights a more direct and remote style of negotiation as geopolitical discussions continue.
