Nigerian actor Stan Nze has spoken on the role of forgiveness in romantic relationships and marriage, saying genuine love should make it possible for partners to forgive mistakes, including infidelity, while maintaining healthy boundaries.
Speaking at the premiere of the film Ajosepo, Stan said true love goes beyond temporary emotions and should be grounded in selflessness, kindness, and the ability to forgive.
According to the actor, the kind of love that sustains relationships is not based on physical attraction alone but on deeper values that encourage understanding and reconciliation when conflicts arise.

The actor argued that many marriages break down because partners struggle to forgive one another when challenges occur.
Stan added that while forgiveness is important, it should not be interpreted as permission for repeated wrongdoing. He explained that people should be willing to forgive genuine mistakes but also exercise wisdom in handling situations that threaten the stability of a relationship.
He noted that forgiveness should come from a place of genuine love rather than obligation or fear of losing a partner.
Addressing the issue of cheating, Stan said he believes forgiveness is possible even after infidelity, provided there is sincere remorse and a commitment to change.
The actor stressed that forgiveness does not mean tolerating harmful behaviour indefinitely, adding that individuals should avoid becoming vulnerable to repeated patterns of misconduct.
His comments have since generated conversations among fans and relationship observers on social media about the balance between forgiveness, accountability, and trust in relationships.
Stan and his wife, Blessing Nze, dated for more than three years before getting married in September 2021.
The couple welcomed their first child in 2023 and have often shared aspects of their family life and relationship experiences with fans.
Stan’s remarks add to ongoing discussions about the role of forgiveness, accountability, and emotional maturity in sustaining long-term relationships and marriages.
His comments highlight a perspective that genuine love should encourage reconciliation and growth while maintaining personal boundaries and mutual respect between partners.
