According to instablog9ja, the participant was caught displaying signs of insanity. It was also gathered that the anonymous athlete also tried to attack the medical personnel who were trying to rescue him before he was calmed with injections.

Participant runs mad at the 2019 #LagosCityMarathon . . There was confusion, some minutes ago at the 2019 #LagosCityMarathon, as one of the athletes started displaying signs of insanity. . . The man could be heard saying: “I’m the most powerful man,” while trying to attack the medical personnel attending to him. . . He was later calmed down by some injections, before being taken away in an ambulance.
