Lagos Assembly Speaker Obasa Denies Arms Stockpiling Allegations, Meranda Refutes Resignation Claim

 The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has vehemently denied allegations that he is stockpiling arms, dismissing the claims as malicious and politically motivated. 

 Obasa, in a statement issued through his media office, refuted the allegations, stating that they are baseless and designed to tarnish his reputation. He emphasized his commitment to peace and security in Lagos State and reiterated his respect for the rule of law.

The allegations of arms stockpiling surfaced amidst heightened political tensions in the state. Obasa has accused his political opponents of spreading false information to destabilize the state and undermine his leadership. 

 Meanwhile, the newly elected speaker of the  Lagos State Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has also refuted claims that she has resigned from his position. Meranda described the resignation rumors as fake news and reaffirmed her dedication to serving the Lagos State House of Assembly. 

 These denials come at a time of heightened political activity in Lagos State, with various factions vying for influence and power. The denials also come amidst heightened security concerns in the region.
