The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a one-year suspension on admissions into the Law program at Redeemer’s University and seven other universities.

In a press release issued by Redeemer’s University management, the suspension is attributed to a penalty imposed by the Council for Legal Education (CLE) for the university’s commencement of its Law program in 2017 without CLE approval, despite securing accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The statement, signed by Adetunji Adeleye, Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs, clarified that Redeemer’s University currently holds full accreditation from both NUC and CLE for its undergraduate Law program. The university assured that the suspension does not affect current students enrolled in its Faculty of Law.

Emphasizing its commitment to regulatory compliance, the university confirmed it will adhere to the CLE-imposed penalty by suspending admissions into its Law program for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Meanwhile, prospective students are encouraged to explore other accredited programs offered by the institution.

Other affected universities include Kwara State University, Ilorin; Bingham University, Nasarawa State; Western Delta University, Delta State; Taraba State University, Jalingo; Arthur Jarvis University, Cross River State; Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ebonyi State; and Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
