Asake is set to release his fourth studio album, M$NEY, on May 1, marking his first full-length project as an independent artist.
The Afrobeats star, born Ahmed Ololade, announced the release date via Instagram, teasing the project with a visual showing a stone carver crafting what appears to be the album’s cover art, an artistic nod that hints at a new creative direction.
M$NEY will feature 13 tracks, including previously released singles like “Why Love,” “Badman Gangster” featuring Tiakola, and “Worship” with DJ Snake. The album is expected to continue Asake’s signature blend of Fuji-inspired vocals, Amapiano rhythms, and contemporary Afrobeats, while also exploring new sonic territory.
The project represents a pivotal moment in the singer’s career, coming after a successful run under a major label structure. Going independent signals a shift in control over his sound, rollout, and overall artistic direction.

Asake’s rise has been rapid and consistent. Since his breakout, he has delivered three major studio albums — Mr Money With The Vibe (2022), Work of Art (2023), and Lungu Boy (2024), all of which cemented his place as one of the leading voices in Afrobeats.

His global appeal was further highlighted when his hit track “Amapiano” earned a nomination in the Best African Music Performance category at the 2024 Grammy Awards, despite being predominantly performed in Yoruba.
With M$NEY, expectations are high, not just for chart success, but for what his first independent era will sound like.
