Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has revealed that she is now a mother of three, announcing the birth of her daughter and describing the child as an “answered prayer” after keeping the news private for more than two years.
The actress made the disclosure in an Instagram post on Sunday, coinciding with her birthday celebration.
Sharing photos from her pregnancy journey alongside a close-up image of her daughter’s hand, Adunni said she and her partner deliberately chose to keep the birth of their child away from public attention in order to enjoy the experience privately.
“Today, on my birthday, I’m finally sharing what we’ve protected for over two years,” she wrote.
The actress, who has largely kept her personal and romantic life out of the spotlight, did not reveal the identity of her partner.
According to Adunni, the journey to motherhood was marked by personal challenges and moments that tested her resilience.
“This wasn’t an easy journey. It came with silent battles, moments that tested me, and a strength I had to grow into,” she said.
“While the world saw one version of me, I was living something much deeper, much more personal.”
The actress explained that maintaining privacy allowed her family to cherish the experience without external pressure or public scrutiny.
She also pushed back against assumptions often made about women and single mothers, stressing that not every personal story is surrounded by controversy.
“Not every single mother fits your assumptions. Not every story is scandal. Not every blessing comes with drama attached,” she wrote.
“God gave me mine. Fully. Peacefully. Intentionally. Not ‘another woman’s man’, all in the name of clicks.”
Adunni described the birth of her daughter, whom she referred to as “Baby Sal,” as the fulfilment of a long-awaited blessing.
“A journey of almost a decade! Almighty blessed us with our first child together. Our baby girl, our answered prayer, my evidence that God still writes beautiful stories in His own time,” she said.
The actress also expressed appreciation to friends, family members and supporters who had continued to show her love and offer prayers over the years.
“P.S. No single home is or was broken in the making of our Baby Sal. It’s always love,” she added.
Born to a Nigerian father and an American mother, Adunni is already a mother to two sons, Ayden Young and D’marion Young, from a previous relationship.
In a previous interview in 2017, the actress disclosed that she was never married to the father of her two older children, explaining that she ended their eight-year relationship because it was no longer sustainable.
The announcement has since attracted congratulatory messages from fans, colleagues and well-wishers across social media.
