Nigeria: A Journey With No Path

In 1960 I was born ,
the seed of my growth  was indeed sown.
As a child I was allowed to dream
With my head burning with fiery gleam
They came like rampaging bulls
Gun piercing sounds like seagulls.
Left me to live as a cast away
I swear they shall pay
Placing a curse on their beastly  garment
Until death they shall feel its torment
Till this day I still feel disdain
99 came and I felt ashamed
OH!! What have I done in angers’ name
broke the curse and the agbada was made.
Cascading down their arms and glistening in the shade .
Hiding their booty within its bounty
I decided to show apathy
Turning my head away from their words and filth.
Then one rainy 1st October
I was told I would become a grandfather.
lo and behold I clocked 60
What have I done to myself ,progress now seems tricky.
