English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi as their new manager, in a move aimed at stabilising the club’s struggling season.
The club confirmed the appointment in a statement on Tuesday, noting that De Zerbi’s arrival is subject to the approval of a work permit licence.
The decision comes just 48 hours after Tottenham parted ways with Igor Tudor, whose brief spell in charge ended following a poor run of results.
De Zerbi becomes Tottenham’s fourth manager in the last nine months, highlighting a period of instability for the London club since the departure of Ange Postecoglou in June 2025, shortly after he won the Europa League title with the team.
Postecoglou was replaced by Thomas Frank, whose tenure also ended after a string of poor results left the club struggling near the bottom of the table. Igor Tudor was then appointed but lasted just 44 days before being dismissed following a continued decline in performance.
Tottenham are currently battling relegation, sitting 17th in the Premier League table and just one point above the drop zone.

De Zerbi, who previously managed Brighton & Hove Albion in the EPL, earned widespread praise for guiding the club to its highest-ever Premier League finish and securing European qualification.

He later had a spell at Olympique de Marseille before returning to England for his latest challenge.
The club will now hope his appointment brings immediate stability as the season enters a critical phase.
