President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned visit to Iperu in Ogun State, choosing instead to travel to Jos following the recent deadly attack in the state.
In a statement shared on Wednesday, the president said his immediate priority was to stand with victims and grieving families affected by the violence.
“I will be in Jos to commiserate with families who have lost loved ones and to reaffirm that those who seek to spread fear will not prevail,” Tinubu said, while also pledging to strengthen Nigeria’s security response and ensure justice is served.

The visit comes amid heightened tension in Plateau, where recent attacks have triggered public outrage and renewed concerns about insecurity in the region.
Tinubu stressed that his administration would not relent in efforts to combat violence, noting that those behind such acts would be held accountable.
After he visits Plateau, the president said he would proceed to Lagos to observe Good Friday, before continuing with scheduled engagements across Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa State.

These engagements, he noted, would focus on infrastructure development, trade expansion, and broader economic growth.
Emphasising national unity, Tinubu urged Nigerians to stand together in difficult times, adding that the government remains committed to both addressing security challenges and sustaining progress across key sectors.
“In moments of grief, we must stand together. In moments of progress, we must keep building,” he said.
