  • Oyo State plans to purchase 60,000 laptops to support the West African Examinations Council’s (WAEC) shift to Computer-Based Testing (CBT).
  • The move aligns with the Federal Government’s gradual transition from paper exams to full digital testing.
  • Schools can participate in CBT based on readiness, while strict penalties apply for exam misconduct, including mobile phone use.

The Oyo State Government has confirmed its readiness to adopt the Computer-Based Test mode for WAEC exams. Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Olusegun Olayiwola, revealed that Governor Seyi Makinde has directed preparations for procuring over 60,000 laptops for public senior secondary schools.

This initiative aims to ensure the state is fully prepared for the nationwide shift to CBT examinations, improving efficiency and reducing malpractice risks.
