The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has launched an investigation into the death of a corps member in Abeokuta, confirming that an official connected to the incident has been taken into custody.

The corps member, identified as Victoria Ariyo, was serving in Abeokuta South Local Government Area before her death on Tuesday. Reports indicate that she died from complications arising from a suspected abortion procedure, although authorities have yet to confirm full details pending investigation.

Her remains were reportedly buried at Kobape Cemetery along the Kobape-Sagamu Road in the Ogun State capital.
