
The 98th Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscars, will be held on Sunday with Nigerian-British actress Wunmi Mosaku among the nominees.
Mosaku secured a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category for her performance in the film Sinners, placing her among a competitive lineup of contenders.
The film has also earned nominations for other cast members, including Michael B. Jordan, who is nominated for Best Actor, and Delroy Lindo, who is in the running for Best Supporting Actor.
This year’s ceremony features strong competition across the major categories, with One Battle After Another and Sinners emerging as early favourites for multiple awards.
The event, scheduled for March 15, 2026, will be hosted by comedian and television personality Conan O’Brien.

Among the nominees for Best Picture are:
In the Best Actor category, nominees include Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme, Leonardo DiCaprio for One Battle After Another, Ethan Hawke for Blue Moon, Michael B. Jordan for Sinners, and Wagner Moura for The Secret Agent.
For Best Actress, the nominees include Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), and Emma Stone (Bugonia).

In the Best Supporting Actress category, Mosaku competes alongside Elle Fanning, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Amy Madigan, and Teyana Taylor.
The Best Director nominees include Chloé Zhao for Hamnet, Josh Safdie for Marty Supreme, Paul Thomas Anderson for One Battle After Another, Joachim Trier for Sentimental Value, and Ryan Coogler for Sinners.
Other categories at the ceremony include Original Screenplay, Adapted Screenplay, Animated Feature, Documentary Feature, International Feature, Cinematography, Original Score, Costume Design, Visual Effects, Sound, Makeup and Hairstyling, and Original Song.

The annual awards ceremony celebrates excellence in global filmmaking and recognises achievements across acting, directing, writing, and technical production in the film industry.
