The Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the ongoing destruction of President Bola Tinubu’s posters in Gusau, the state capital, warning that the acts could escalate into political violence ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party said thugs have been used to incite crises, and urged security agencies to take immediate action.
According to APC publicity secretary Yusuf Idris, billboards featuring the president have been repeatedly removed or destroyed throughout Zamfara State. The most recent incident involved a billboard showing Tinubu alongside Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and former governor Sen. Abdulaziz Yari, installed in front of Matawalle’s residence in Gusau. Security personnel stationed at the property prevented the vandalism.

Idris emphasised that the APC, as a peace-loving party, will not tolerate acts of incivility or political vandalism. “Enough is enough. We will not fold our arms, allowing some disrespectful citizens to carry out illegal activities in the name of politics,” he said, stressing that security agencies must prevent further destruction and protect public order.
