UN Chief Guterres Warns of “Suffocating” Global Assault on Human Rights

 United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has delivered a stark warning about the alarming erosion of human rights around the world, describing a “suffocating” assault on fundamental freedoms. In a passionate address, Guterres called on world leaders and citizens alike to stand up for human rights and reverse the current trend.

Guterres expressed deep concern over the increasing prevalence of authoritarianism, the suppression of dissent, and the targeting of vulnerable groups. He highlighted the rise of hate speech, the spread of disinformation, and the use of technology to monitor and control populations as key threats to human rights.
