Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, representing Sophia Momodu in her ongoing custody dispute with Davido over their daughter Imade, has condemned what it described as “online harassment” directed at one of its partners.
The controversy followed a recent court hearing where Davido recounted an incident involving Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, Sophia’s legal counsel. The singer subsequently announced he was withdrawing the custody case, clarifying that he intended to establish a structured co-parenting arrangement rather than seek sole custody of Imade.
However, Davido drew public attention to the lawyer by sharing her name and social media handle, mistakenly tagging singer Tosin Bee, which Punuka Attorneys says exposed her to widespread online harassment.

In a statement, the law firm stressed that the situation should remain confined to the courtroom, warning that Davido’s actions amount to “threat, intimidation, or exposure to harassment” outside judicial proceedings.
“Our attention has been drawn to inflammatory public statements chiefly engineered by a Nigerian Afrobeat artiste, via social media, directed at our Partner, Mrs Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, arising from her professional conduct in a custody matter presently pending before a court of competent jurisdiction in Lagos State,” the statement read.

Punuka Attorneys called on the Nigerian Bar Association and legal practitioners worldwide to condemn the violation, emphasizing that “the administration of justice depends upon fearless advocacy” and that no professional should face intimidation for discharging their duty in court.
The firm reiterated that the custody matter is sub judice and will be decided solely on evidence and law, warning that media commentary cannot influence the judicial process.
