The NBA has witnessed yet another major trade involving a Western Conference team.

In a three-team deal that also sent Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls to the Sacramento Kings, the San Antonio Spurs secured point guard De’Aaron Fox.

Alongside Fox, the Spurs also acquired Jordan McLaughlin, strengthening their backcourt.

The Kings, in return, received LaVine, young prospect Sidy Cissoko, three first-round picks (2025, 2027, 2031), and three second-round picks (2025, and two in 2028).

Meanwhile, the Bulls gained Tre Jones, Kevin Huerter, Zach Collins, and their own 2025 first-round pick, which was previously held by Sacramento.

Fox, 27, had been contemplating a departure from the Kings despite having two years remaining on his contract. Reports indicate that Kings’ front office had discussions with Fox’s agent, Rich Paul, about his long-term plans.

While no official trade request was made, there was growing concern that Fox might decline an extension, particularly given the franchise’s struggles in building a competitive roster.
