Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has condemned the recent deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, accusing the federal government of failing to address insecurity in the country adequately.

In a statement issued on Monday, Obi criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu, alleging that its response to repeated killings and kidnappings amounts to normalising violence against citizens.

He said the recurring attacks in Plateau State reflect a wider national security crisis that continues to expose communities to preventable tragedies.

Obi argued that no government should accept repeated loss of innocent lives as routine, stressing that stronger and more decisive action is needed to protect citizens across the country.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) also reacted to the incident, describing the killings as tragic and unacceptable, while calling for a thorough investigation into the attack.

CAN President Daniel Oko said the repeated violence raises serious concerns about the safety of communities, especially in areas that have continued to experience attacks.

He urged security agencies and government authorities to intensify efforts to prevent further loss of lives and restore public confidence in affected regions.
