A video that sparked a flurry of online debate recently shows former Edo State Governor and current Senator Adams Oshiomhole seemingly massaging a woman’s feet on a luxury jet, igniting criticism and speculation across social media.
While Oshiomhole’s media team described the clip as a “poorly crafted AI-generated” fabrication, the South African lifestyle influencer involved has pushed back, rejecting claims that the footage was digitally manipulated.
The controversy began when the video circulated on platforms including TikTok and X, initially misidentifying the woman in the footage. Many Nigerians reacted sharply, framing the moment as a display of luxury and excess at a time of widespread economic hardship.
Some users also referenced Oshiomhole’s recent remark about “food prices becoming too cheap,” using the video to highlight perceived disconnects between leaders and citizens.

Oshiomhole’s media aide, Oseni Momodu, responded quickly, condemning the video as cyberbullying and urging platforms to verify content before sharing. The statement also mentioned ongoing efforts to identify those behind the clip’s creation and distribution.
Hours later, Leshaan Dagama took to Instagram to dispute the AI claims. Her response was sarcastic but firm, stating, “Video wasn’t AI but okay, believe your senator,” highlighting her refusal to accept the narrative crafted by Oshiomhole’s office. She also redirected public scrutiny toward the senator himself, emphasizing in another post, “Your senator is the problem. Go be mad at him, not me.”
