
The Nigeria Police Force has announced that physical and credential screening for applicants in the 2025/2026 constable recruitment exercise will begin in Lagos on March 9.
According to the Lagos State command, the screening will take place daily from 7:00 a.m. between March 9 and April 18 at the Police College Ikeja.
The announcement was made by the command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, who said the exercise is for candidates who successfully completed the online registration for recruitment as general duty and specialist police constables.
Adebisi said applicants must appear for the screening dressed in clean white T-shirts and shorts. They are also required to present several documents arranged in two white flat files.
Among the required documents are the invitation slip indicating the assigned screening table, the credential screening form, and the original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card issued by the National Identity Management Commission.

Other documents include O-level certificates, birth certificates or declarations of age, and certificates of local government or state of origin. Candidates applying for specialist positions are also expected to present their trade test certificates.

Applicants must additionally submit a completed guarantors’ form along with photocopies and passport photographs of their referees.
The police said both original and duplicate copies of all credentials must be packaged separately in the two flat files with recent passport photographs attached.
Adebisi warned that any applicant who fails to present the required documents would not be allowed to participate in the screening process.
She also urged candidates to strictly follow their assigned screening dates and comply with all guidelines provided for the recruitment exercise.
According to the police spokesperson, the screening will be conducted free of charge and strictly on merit, in line with professional standards of the force.
Members of the public were also advised to report anyone demanding payment or attempting to extort applicants in connection with the recruitment process.
