Kevin De Bruyne, the 33-year-old Belgian midfielder, has officially announced his decision to leave Manchester City after the 2024/2025 season, bringing an end to a remarkable ten-year tenure with the club.

Since joining City from VfL Wolfsburg in 2015 for a then-club-record fee of £55 million, De Bruyne has been instrumental in the team’s domestic and international successes.

Throughout his time at Manchester City, De Bruyne has made 413 appearances, scoring 106 goals and providing 174 assists. His contributions have been pivotal in securing 16 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and the club’s first-ever UEFA Champions League triumph in 2023. Manager Pep Guardiola has lauded De Bruyne as one of the greatest midfielders in the history of English football, acknowledging his profound impact on the team’s performance and legacy.

While De Bruyne’s next destination remains unconfirmed, reports suggest potential moves to Major League Soccer’s San Diego FC or clubs in Saudi Arabia. As he prepares for his departure, De Bruyne expressed deep gratitude to the club, teammates, and fans, stating that Manchester will always hold a special place in his heart.
