The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Kaduna State University (KASU) has suspended its strike, which began on February 18, 2025.

The strike, initially labeled “sabotage” by the Kaduna State Government, was called off following interventions by state officials and university management.

Education Commissioner Professor Muhammad Sani Bello clarified that the dispute predated Governor Uba Sani’s administration. Governor Sani expressed optimism, stating, “We are committed to ensuring that the educational aspirations of our students are not hindered. Constructive dialogue remains our primary tool in resolving such disputes.”

Students expressed relief, eager to resume their studies. University authorities urged staff and students to prioritize academic excellence.
