The escalating communal clashes in Osun State have prompted Governor Ademola Adeleke to issue a stern warning to traditional rulers in the affected areas, particularly those overseeing the long-standing conflicts in Ilobu, Ifon-Osun, and Erin-Osun.

Over the past few weeks, violent confrontations linked to land disputes have led to tragic casualties, the destruction of property, and heightened tensions among the communities.

In a decisive move, Governor Adeleke made it clear that any traditional ruler who fails to curb violence within their domain will be held accountable. He emphasized that peace is non-negotiable and that any monarch found complicit in or negligent toward the unrest risks immediate removal from office.

Security agencies have been deployed to maintain order, but residents remain on edge, fearing further violence. The governor has urged community leaders to engage in dialogue, find common ground, and uphold the values of peace and stability in their regions. Stakeholders, including security forces, government representatives, and traditional institutions, are set to hold an emergency meeting to discuss long-term solutions to these recurring conflicts.
