Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has opened up about his two-year experience in office, stating that he has resisted political godfathers seeking to exploit state resources.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm, Adeleke described his journey from being underestimated as a “dancing senator” to delivering tangible governance results.

“Many people didn’t believe in me, but I had my plans. Immediately after my swearing-in, I went into action,” he said.

Adeleke disclosed that his administration focused on infrastructure, particularly road projects, to facilitate economic growth. “I launched a N100 billion infrastructure plan, and within two years, I met the target. I have constructed 150 kilometers of roads, including bridges and streetlights,” he added.

Regarding financial prudence, Adeleke explained how he managed to reduce the state’s debt burden, which stood at nearly N60 billion.

“I increased Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and blocked financial leakages. No godfather can exploit the system under my watch. I monitor expenses personally, ensuring accountability,” he said.

Despite inheriting abandoned projects and financial liabilities, Adeleke expressed satisfaction with his achievements, vowing to continue prioritizing the welfare of Osun residents.
