A Nigerian customer has publicly accused a delivery rider linked to Glovo of threatening her life following a dispute over a food delivery order.
The allegation was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user Annie🦋 (@DabereNnamani), who said the incident occurred after she placed an order from Chicken Republic using the app on a pay-on-delivery basis.
According to her account, the rider arrived at her residence and became aggressive after claiming she was unreachable by phone, despite her insisting she had no missed calls at the time of delivery.
She said the situation escalated into a verbal altercation at her doorstep, after which she chose not to complete payment and returned inside her home.

The customer further alleged that the rider later sent her a text message threatening physical violence and her life, an escalation she described as alarming and unacceptable.
She expressed concern over her safety and publicly called on Glovo to urgently intervene, noting that the company’s direct messaging channels were not accessible.

“This rider threatened my life. I want this on record,” she wrote, adding that she would hold both the rider and the company responsible should anything happen to her.

As of the time of reporting, the delivery company had not issued a public response to the allegation.
The incident has sparked wider conversations online about rider conduct, customer safety, and accountability in Nigeria’s fast-growing food delivery sector, where platforms like Glovo, Bolt Food, and others continue to expand operations amid rising demand.
