
China says it will dispatch its special envoy for Middle East affairs to help ease growing tensions in the region following recent military strikes involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
The announcement was made on Thursday by Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning during a regular press briefing.
Mao said Beijing would continue engaging with all parties involved in the conflict to encourage dialogue and prevent further escalation.
According to Mao, Zhai Jun, China’s special envoy on Middle East affairs, will travel to the region soon to promote diplomatic engagement and support de-escalation efforts.
She said the visit is part of China’s broader commitment to maintaining communication with stakeholders in the region and strengthening mediation efforts.

Mao added that China aims to help build consensus among the parties involved and support international initiatives aimed at stabilising the situation.
The remarks came in response to questions about heightened tensions following reported military strikes targeting Iran by the United States and Israel.
