All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) National Chairman Eze-Onyebuchi Chukwuukadibia declared on June 5, 2025, that the November 2025 Anambra governorship election poses “no contest,” confidently predicting a landslide for incumbent Governor Charles Soludo.

Speaking at a party rally in Onitsha, Chukwuukadibia touted Soludo’s infrastructure achievements and APGA’s dominance in the South-East, dismissing opposition parties like PDP and APC as fragmented. The bold assertion, aimed at rallying supporters, sets a defiant tone for the Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC’s) race, as Anambra’s political landscape braces for a high-stakes battle.

Soludo, a former Central Bank governor, has leveraged projects like the Awka Capital City Development Project and Ekwulobia Flyover to bolster his re-election bid, with APGA controlling 19 of Anambra’s 21 local governments. Chukwu highlighted Soludo’s 2021 victory, where he polled 112,229 votes, as evidence of voter loyalty, citing low turnout favoring APGA’s grassroots machine.

However, PDP’s Valentine Ozigbo and APC’s Andy Uba, both eyeing the race, dismissed the claim, with Ozigbo citing economic discontent and Uba alleging electoral irregularities. INEC’s publication of candidate details on June 30, 2025, will clarify contenders, but APGA’s confidence is tempered by IPOB’s past election boycotts, which reduced 2021 turnout to 10.2%. Chukwu’s remarks, covered by Vanguard, aim to deter opposition momentum, as Anambra’s 2.5 million registered voters prepare to shape the state’s future.
