"I Am A Proud Feminist" Genevieve Declares.

 Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji has publicly declares that she is a proud feminist.

A statement she ultered in an interview with Hollywood Magazine with the brand name Woman and Hollywood Magazine. 

“I’m a proud feminist who embraces her femininity. I feel sometimes women are made to feel self-conscious and ashamed of their womanhood.

“Perhaps like “Wonder Woman,” we may wake up one day to discover that it is our superpower, and then we would be unstoppable.

“History has shown that in almost every situation where a group of people or a demographic is being oppressed, it’s usually because the oppressors are threatened by the potential of the oppressed to be great.

“I’m happy women all over the world are discovering their superpower and turning “why me?” into “not me.”

After rocking the Nollywood stars hall of fame for over 2 decades as an actress Genevieve acquired new record with her directory movie Lion Heart as the movie marks the first Netflix original film from Nigeria.

Online movie giant, Netflix acquired worldwide right to the movie which makes it their first original film from Nigeria.

According to reports, the American over-the-top media services provider bought the movie at it’s world eve premiere at Toronto International Film Festival.

The movie features stars like Nkem Owoh, Pete Edochie, Onyeka Onwenu and Genevieve herself among others.

Synopsis:

Variety reported that the story follows a daughter who’s forced to work with her feckless uncle in order to save her father’s ailing bus company. Nnaji plays Adaeze, a level-headed executive in her father’s bus company, Lionheart Transport. When her father (played by Edochie) falls ill, both she and her rival (Kalu Egbui Ikeagwu) are passed over in favor of the uncle, played by Owoh. (Credit: LailasNews.)
